The Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP™) employs a blended learning approach supported by a Learning Management System (LMS), webinar technology, and internet-based interaction. The programme's structure is based on four parallel learning streams that work towards a synthesis of all learning. These streams are designed to progressively build leadership competencies.
Stream 1: Self-paced Learning (10 Modules)
This stream delivers learning content through dynamic eLearning Modules, each approximately 75 minutes long. Each module is built upon reference material available in PDF format on the LMS, including mandatory readings (research papers, position papers, excerpts from handbooks), recommended readings (handbooks, scientific articles, research, manuals), and recommended viewing materials (documentaries, interviews, film clips). This stream aims to bring participants to the level of understanding the programme's body of knowledge. The ten eLearning modules are divided into logical segments:
FOUNDATION:
- Introduction
- Leadership in Organisations
LEADING PEOPLE TOWARD RESULTS:
- Stakeholders
- Strategy
- Business Continuity & Crisis Management
- Effective Communication & Negotiation
- Team Management & Development
- Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
LEADING WITHIN BOUNDARIES:
- Ethical & Legal Considerations
LEADING TOWARDS THE FUTURE:
- Leading Innovation & Future Trends
Stream 2 - Intervision Sessions
Learners participate in five Intervision Sessions under the supervision of a mentor. In these sessions, each learner presents a personal leadership challenge from their organisational setting, fostering collaborative problem-solving and mutual support among a group of five learners and a mentor. Active and full participation is mandatory and part of the assessment. This stream aims to bring participants to the levels of analysis and evaluation/synthesis of the knowledge domain.
Stream 3: Individual Mentoring Sessions
Learners engage in a sequence of three individual mentoring sessions with expert mentors throughout the programme. The aim is to support the learner's development, provide feedback on their performance, and validate progress in their individual learning, aiming at the evaluation/synthesis level of the knowledge domain.
Stream 4: Capstone Project
Learners will demonstrate their leadership competencies in a capstone project centered at their workplace and organisation. This project is programmed at the individual pace in coordination with the learner’s mentor. This stream challenges participants to analyse, combine, evaluate, and activate concepts from previous phases, including academic reflection on their role as a leader and the required communicative, collaborative, and governance skills.
Assessment Strategy
The programme also incorporates an assessment strategy with multiple tools to evaluate learners' progress and mastery of learning objectives:
- Comprehensive Multiple-Choice Quiz: A 30-question MCQ taken after finishing the eLearning Modules (Stream 1) tests knowledge of leadership principles at Bloom Level 2 (Comprehension). A score of 70% correct answers is required.
- Participation in Intervision Sessions: Active and full participation in the five intervision sessions (Stream 2) is mandatory and assessed at Bloom Levels 4 and 5.
- Self Assessments: Learners conduct a pre and a post programme self assessment through an online diagnostic self-assessment tool, to gauge initial competencies and is followed by a post self evaluation to to assess individual learning curves. Participation in the self assessment is mandatory.
- Capstone Project: This workplace-centered project allows learners to demonstrate integrated leadership competencies at higher Bloom levels.
